Senior Accountant - month-end close (Salt Lake City, UT)

Amberfield Quarry Arts Center is an arts centre in Salt Lake City with a full calendar of events, and we need a Senior Accountant to lead our month-end close. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to school partnerships, and clear open items. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Experience with school partnerships. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, mornings. • On site in Salt Lake City, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We reply to every applicant.
