Senior Accountant - month-end close (Sacramento, CA)

Bluepeak Rook Financial provides savings, lending and payment services from Sacramento. We are hiring a Senior Accountant to take on month-end close. You would join a small organisation of about 41 people based in Sacramento. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to vendor spend, and clear open items. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Track costs around account servicing against budget and explain variances to managers. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • On site in Sacramento. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
