Senior Accountant - month-end close (Rochester, NY)

Nova Drift Banking Services Group is looking for a Senior Accountant. The job centres on month-end close for fraud alerts, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a small organisation of about 150 people based in Rochester. What you will do • Track costs around branch operations against budget and explain variances to managers. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to fraud alerts, and clear open items. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with fraud alerts.
