Senior Accountant - month-end close (Richmond, VA)

Bright Glen Hospitality is a hospitality company in Richmond with restaurants, rooms and catering. We are hiring a Senior Accountant to take on month-end close. You would join a small organisation of about 187 people based in Richmond. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to reviews and feedback, and clear open items. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Track costs around supplier orders against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Experience with reviews and feedback. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Contract for four months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in Richmond, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We reply to every applicant.
