Senior Accountant - month-end close (remote)

We are growing our team at Fernwood Maple Community Partners Group and adding a Senior Accountant whose main responsibility will be month-end close. You would join a large organisation of about 787 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to benefits enrolment, and clear open items. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Track costs around client intake against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with benefits enrolment. Working arrangement • Full-time, Monday to Friday. • Fully remote, with an occasional day on site in Minneapolis. • We reply to every applicant.
