Senior Accountant - month-end close (remote)

We are growing our team at Amberfield Ember Markets Group and adding a Senior Accountant whose main responsibility will be month-end close. We are friendly and busy, especially on weekends. What you will do • Track costs around supplier deliveries against budget and explain variances to managers. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to pricing, and clear open items. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Experience with pricing. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, spread across three days. • Remote-friendly, with a monthly team day in San Antonio. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
