Senior Accountant - month-end close (remote)

We are growing our team at Ironwood Telecom and adding a Senior Accountant whose main responsibility will be month-end close. We keep people connected and take outages personally. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to outage reports, and clear open items. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Track costs around billing accounts against budget and explain variances to managers. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Experience with outage reports. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • Remote-friendly, with a monthly team day in Seattle. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
