Senior Accountant - month-end close (remote)

Silverline Nest Financial is a financial-services company in Austin. We are hiring a Senior Accountant to take on month-end close. You would join a small organisation of about 13 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Track costs around vendor spend against budget and explain variances to managers. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Contract for nine months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • Fully remote, with an occasional day on site in Austin. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
