Senior Accountant - month-end close (remote)

Amberfield Cobalt Insurance is an insurance company in Colorado Springs with claims and service teams, and we need a Senior Accountant to lead our month-end close. We care about how people feel on the worst day of their year. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Track costs around catastrophe response against budget and explain variances to managers. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Experience with premium billing. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • Fully remote, with an occasional day on site in Colorado Springs. • We reply to every applicant.
