Senior Accountant - month-end close (remote)

Silverline Iron Pharma is a pharmaceutical company in Oakland producing generic and specialty treatments, and we need a Senior Accountant to lead our month-end close. We work to strict standards and value careful documentation. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to batch records, and clear open items. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Track costs around release testing against budget and explain variances to managers. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with batch records. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 28 hours a week, afternoons. • Fully remote, with an occasional day on site in Oakland. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
