Senior Accountant - month-end close (remote)

We are growing our team at Nova Meadow Markets Group and adding a Senior Accountant whose main responsibility will be month-end close. You would join a large organisation of about 545 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to shrink and waste, and clear open items. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Track costs around promotions against budget and explain variances to managers. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Contract for four months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • Remote-friendly, with quarterly visits in Charlotte. • We reply to every applicant.
