Senior Accountant - month-end close (remote)

Redstone Juniper Foods Group is looking for a Senior Accountant. The job centres on month-end close for cold storage, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a small organisation of about 174 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to cold storage, and clear open items. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • Fully remote, with a monthly team day in Grand Rapids. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
