Senior Accountant - month-end close (remote)

Highbridge Sparrow Energy is looking for a Senior Accountant. The job centres on month-end close for meter readings, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Track costs around outage response against budget and explain variances to managers. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to meter readings, and clear open items. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with meter readings. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, afternoons. • Fully remote, with a monthly team day in Albuquerque. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
