Senior Accountant - month-end close (remote)

Greenridge Umber Telecom is a telecommunications provider in Charlotte focused on reliable home and business connections, and we need a Senior Accountant to lead our month-end close. We keep people connected and take outages personally. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Track costs around field visits against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with network equipment. Working arrangement • Contract for nine months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • Remote-friendly, with an occasional day on site in Charlotte. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
