Senior Accountant - month-end close (remote)

Amberfield Willow Construction is a Raleigh contractor with project managers, trades and support staff. We are hiring a Senior Accountant to take on month-end close. You would join a large organisation of about 869 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Track costs around subcontractor invoices against budget and explain variances to managers. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to permits, and clear open items. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • Remote-friendly, with quarterly visits in Raleigh. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
