Senior Accountant - month-end close (remote)

Fernwood Harbor Care Services supports families and individuals in Philadelphia with personal care and coordination, and we need a Senior Accountant to lead our month-end close. Teams support each other, especially on hard days. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to care plans, and clear open items. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with care plans. Working arrangement • Full-time, on a regular day shift. • Fully remote, with an occasional day on site in Philadelphia. • We reply to every applicant.
