Senior Accountant - month-end close (remote)

Nova Ridge Insurance Group is an insurance company in Birmingham with claims and service teams. We are hiring a Senior Accountant to take on month-end close. You would join a small organisation of about 131 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Track costs around premium billing against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to policy renewals, and clear open items. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Contract for nine months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • Remote-friendly, with a monthly team day in Birmingham. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
