Senior Accountant - month-end close (remote)

Rivermark Ember Staffing Group is a Memphis staffing firm for warehouse, office and healthcare roles. We are hiring a Senior Accountant to take on month-end close. You would join a small organisation of about 26 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Track costs around candidate screening against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with retention. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • Fully remote, with a monthly team day in Memphis. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
