Senior Accountant - month-end close (remote)

Ironwood Wilder Medical Partners is a Jackson company producing monitoring and surgical equipment. We are hiring a Senior Accountant to take on month-end close. Documentation is part of the craft. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to production lots, and clear open items. • Track costs around clinical evaluations against budget and explain variances to managers. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with production lots. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 16 hours a week, with flexible days. • Fully remote, with an occasional day on site in Jackson. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
