Senior Accountant - month-end close (remote)

Redstone Summit Learning Group operates schools and learning programmes around Portland. We are hiring a Senior Accountant to take on month-end close. Collaboration between teachers and staff is strong. What you will do • Track costs around enrolment against budget and explain variances to managers. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to family communication, and clear open items. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with family communication. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, spread across three days. • Fully remote, with quarterly visits in Portland. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
