Senior Accountant - month-end close (remote)

Cedar Summit Insurance sells home, auto and small-business insurance in Reno, and we need a Senior Accountant to lead our month-end close. You would join a small organisation of about 27 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Track costs around premium billing against budget and explain variances to managers. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to customer complaints, and clear open items. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with customer complaints. Working arrangement • Full-time, on a regular day shift. • Remote-friendly, with a monthly team day in Reno. • We reply to every applicant.
