Senior Accountant - month-end close (remote)

Harborlight Mill Arts Center is a cultural organisation in Orlando presenting exhibitions and performances. We are hiring a Senior Accountant to take on month-end close. You would join a large organisation of about 557 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to event logistics, and clear open items. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, afternoons. • Fully remote, with a monthly team day in Orlando. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
