Senior Accountant - month-end close (remote)

We are growing our team at Cedar River Early Learning and adding a Senior Accountant whose main responsibility will be month-end close. You would join a large organisation of more than 1,000 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to meal programmes, and clear open items. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Track costs around family communication against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Experience with meal programmes. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • Fully remote, with quarterly visits in Rochester. • We reply to every applicant.
