Senior Accountant - month-end close (remote)

Rivermark Thistle Early Learning is looking for a Senior Accountant. The job centres on month-end close for classroom supplies, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. Children come first and so does looking after the teachers. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Track costs around tuition and subsidies against budget and explain variances to managers. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to classroom supplies, and clear open items. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Full-time, Monday to Friday. • Fully remote, with an occasional day on site in Memphis. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
