Senior Accountant - month-end close (remote)

Cedar Union Foods is a Dallas food manufacturer supplying grocers and food-service customers, and we need a Senior Accountant to lead our month-end close. You would join a large organisation of about 977 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Track costs around allergen controls against budget and explain variances to managers. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to sanitation schedules, and clear open items. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with sanitation schedules. Working arrangement • Full-time, Monday to Friday. • Remote-friendly, with quarterly visits in Dallas. • We reply to every applicant.
