Senior Accountant - month-end close (Philadelphia, PA)

We are growing our team at Foxglove Basin Foods and adding a Senior Accountant whose main responsibility will be month-end close. Food safety is non-negotiable and we train for it. What you will do • Track costs around ingredient orders against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with allergen controls. Working arrangement • Full-time, Monday to Friday. • On site in Philadelphia, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
