Senior Accountant - month-end close (Philadelphia, PA)

We are growing our team at Rivermark Ashton Transit Planning and adding a Senior Accountant whose main responsibility will be month-end close. You would join a small organisation of about 164 people based in Philadelphia. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to fare systems, and clear open items. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Track costs around accessibility audits against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Experience with fare systems. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 28 hours a week, afternoons. • On site in Philadelphia. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
