Senior Accountant - month-end close (Oklahoma City, OK)

Clearpath Water Authority is a public water utility serving the Oklahoma City area, and we need a Senior Accountant to lead our month-end close. You would join a small organisation of about 43 people based in Oklahoma City. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to treatment plant data, and clear open items. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Track costs around capital projects against budget and explain variances to managers. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with treatment plant data.
