Senior Accountant - month-end close (Oklahoma City, OK)

Summit Learning Group operates schools and learning programmes around Oklahoma City. We are hiring a Senior Accountant to take on month-end close. We follow the school calendar and we like people who like learning. What you will do • Track costs around family communication against budget and explain variances to managers. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to attendance records, and clear open items. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with attendance records. Working arrangement • Contract for nine months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in Oklahoma City. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
