Senior Accountant - month-end close (Oklahoma City, OK)

We are growing our team at Clearpath Fern Freight and adding a Senior Accountant whose main responsibility will be month-end close. Dispatch, drivers and warehouse staff talk to each other constantly. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to loads and lanes, and clear open items. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with loads and lanes.
