Senior Accountant - month-end close (Oakland, CA)

We are growing our team at Ironwood Meadow Auto Group and adding a Senior Accountant whose main responsibility will be month-end close. You would join a small organisation of about 75 people based in Oakland. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Track costs around parts orders against budget and explain variances to managers. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Experience with warranty claims. • A degree or certificate in accounting.
