Senior Accountant - month-end close (Oakland, CA)

Redstone Pike Auto Group Partners operates automotive service and parts businesses around Oakland. We are hiring a Senior Accountant to take on month-end close. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Track costs around customer estimates against budget and explain variances to managers. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to supplier deliveries, and clear open items. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with supplier deliveries. Working arrangement • Contract for three months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in Oakland, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We reply to every applicant.
