Senior Accountant - month-end close (New Orleans, LA)

We are growing our team at Amberfield Lakeside Telecom and adding a Senior Accountant whose main responsibility will be month-end close. You would join a small organisation of about 73 people based in New Orleans. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to network equipment, and clear open items. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Track costs around field visits against budget and explain variances to managers. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Full-time, on a regular day shift. • On site in New Orleans, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We reply to every applicant.
