Senior Accountant - month-end close (New Orleans, LA)

We are growing our team at Redstone Haven Markets and adding a Senior Accountant whose main responsibility will be month-end close. We are friendly and busy, especially on weekends. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to promotions, and clear open items. • Track costs around online orders against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Experience with promotions. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • On site in New Orleans. • We reply to every applicant.
