Senior Accountant - month-end close (Miami, FL)

We are growing our team at Westbrook Bright Financial and adding a Senior Accountant whose main responsibility will be month-end close. Teams collaborate across risk, service and technology. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Track costs around vendor spend against budget and explain variances to managers. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to loan applications, and clear open items. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Experience with loan applications. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Contract for eight months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • On site in Miami, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
