Senior Accountant - month-end close (Memphis, TN)

We are growing our team at Fernwood Field Staffing and adding a Senior Accountant whose main responsibility will be month-end close. We are in the people business and act like it. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Track costs around candidate screening against budget and explain variances to managers. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to onboarding, and clear open items. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Full-time, on a regular day shift. • On site in Memphis. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
