Senior Accountant - month-end close (Memphis, TN)

Stonegate Timber Markets is looking for a Senior Accountant. The job centres on month-end close for online orders, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. Managers started on the floor. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Track costs around promotions against budget and explain variances to managers. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to online orders, and clear open items. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with online orders.
