Senior Accountant - month-end close (Memphis, TN)

Bluepeak Meadow Press prints books, catalogues and packaging from its Memphis plant. We are hiring a Senior Accountant to take on month-end close. We like people who notice details. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Track costs around customer orders against budget and explain variances to managers. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to print quotes, and clear open items. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Experience with print quotes. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Full-time, Monday to Friday. • On site in Memphis, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
