Senior Accountant - month-end close (Memphis, TN)

Nova Harbor Foods is a Memphis food manufacturer supplying grocers and food-service customers. We are hiring a Senior Accountant to take on month-end close. Food safety is non-negotiable and we train for it. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to cold storage, and clear open items. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Experience with cold storage. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, with flexible days. • On site in Memphis. • We reply to every applicant.
