Senior Accountant - month-end close (Memphis, TN)

Cedar Technologies runs community programmes across Memphis. We are hiring a Senior Accountant to take on month-end close. We are small enough to know everyone's name. What you will do • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Track costs around volunteer shifts against budget and explain variances to managers. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to food distribution, and clear open items. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, afternoons. • On site in Memphis. • We reply to every applicant.
