Senior Accountant - month-end close (Madison, WI)

Redstone Ember Financial provides savings, lending and payment services from Madison. We are hiring a Senior Accountant to take on month-end close. Career paths are clear. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to vendor spend, and clear open items. • Track costs around payment disputes against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting.
