Senior Accountant - month-end close (Las Vegas, NV)

Northwind Clear Environmental Services Group collects and processes waste and recycling around Las Vegas. We are hiring a Senior Accountant to take on month-end close. You would join a small organisation of about 65 people based in Las Vegas. What you will do • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Track costs around fleet maintenance against budget and explain variances to managers. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to weigh tickets, and clear open items. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Experience with weigh tickets. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Contract for three months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • On site in Las Vegas, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
