Senior Accountant - month-end close (Knoxville, TN)

Cedar Field Water Authority operates treatment plants and pipelines around Knoxville. We are hiring a Senior Accountant to take on month-end close. Crews and office staff work closely together. What you will do • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to pipe repairs, and clear open items. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with pipe repairs. Working arrangement • Full-time, Monday to Friday. • On site in Knoxville. • We reply to every applicant.
