Senior Accountant - month-end close (Kansas City, MO)

We are growing our team at Summit Iron Pharma Group and adding a Senior Accountant whose main responsibility will be month-end close. You would join a large organisation of more than 1,000 people based in Kansas City. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to regulatory filings, and clear open items. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Track costs around quality documentation against budget and explain variances to managers. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Experience with regulatory filings. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Full-time, on a regular day shift. • On site in Kansas City, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
