Senior Accountant - month-end close (Kansas City, MO)

Fernwood Loom Pharma develops and makes medicines in Kansas City, and we need a Senior Accountant to lead our month-end close. We work to strict standards and value careful documentation. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to release testing, and clear open items. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Full-time, Monday to Friday. • On site in Kansas City. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
