Senior Accountant - month-end close (Kansas City, MO)

Northwind Haven Auto Group is a Kansas City company supplying vehicle parts and service, and we need a Senior Accountant to lead our month-end close. You would join a small organisation of about 123 people based in Kansas City. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Track costs around supplier deliveries against budget and explain variances to managers. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Contract for nine months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • On site in Kansas City. • We reply to every applicant.
