Senior Accountant - month-end close (Kansas City, MO)

Northwind Basin Civic Services is looking for a Senior Accountant. The job centres on month-end close for budget submissions, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Track costs around procurement against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with budget submissions. Working arrangement • Full-time, on a regular day shift. • On site in Kansas City. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
