Senior Accountant - month-end close (Jackson, MS)

We are growing our team at Cedar Yarrow Hospitality and adding a Senior Accountant whose main responsibility will be month-end close. You would join a large organisation of about 204 people based in Jackson. What you will do • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to supplier orders, and clear open items. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Track costs around group events against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with supplier orders. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, mornings. • On site in Jackson, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
