Senior Accountant - month-end close (Jackson, MS)

Highbridge Granite Press Group prints books, catalogues and packaging from its Jackson plant. We are hiring a Senior Accountant to take on month-end close. You would join a small organisation of about 59 people based in Jackson. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Track costs around proofing against budget and explain variances to managers. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Experience with print quotes. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 16 hours a week, afternoons. • On site in Jackson. • We reply to every applicant.
