Senior Accountant - month-end close (Jackson, MS)

Silverline Basin Inspection Services is looking for a Senior Accountant. The job centres on month-end close for certifications, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a large organisation of about 698 people based in Jackson. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to certifications, and clear open items. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Track costs around field inspections against budget and explain variances to managers. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Familiarity with audit requirements.
